I won this on ebay a few months ago. It was listed as a 21ft Powerboat then.
I decided not to complete as I wanted a 21ft boat. The guy seemed genuinely unaware that he had measured it wrongly. It's actually 18'6".
The consensus from the people I spoke to is that it is probably a 'Romney Raider' built in the 70's by Romney Powerboats, a forerunner to a Marsham
The confusion over it being an Avenger seems to be down to one being listed wrongly as an Avenger on boatshed.
(Oh, and that engine is probably a long shaft)

Seems to work out easy enough up to about 30hp Then it appears to get exponentially more tricky.

Yeah you could swap shims and adjust pitch with screws
Just had a look, don't think they do them any more!

I read somewhere a guy in the states has bought up all the old stocks, is making new cams and doing overhauls on old props.

No it's not. The hub is machined from alloy and then anodised. There is a plastic ring on the rear which pins together all three blades to ensure they pitch up equally. Oh yeh, they surface without a problem.
