Yamaha tiller
I'm after a yamaha tiller to fit a 70ces, I have an almost new, very good condition four stroke tiller that I can p/x if wanted, just doesn't work with my (older) engine.
Let me know what you've got,
cheers

If you can get me the Yamaha part number of the tiller handle I can get you new but none of my Yamaha schematics show a tiller handle for a 70hp 2 stroke shortshaft.
kind regards

I think I need one of the older 2 stroke handles, then I can flip the throttle gear to the other side of the tiller to swap it from push to open to pull to open. The gears in the four-stroke tiller I've got are fairly impossible to flip...

interesting, is it a kit for using a newer tiller with an older style 60/70? Doesn't say anywhere exactly what it does

doesnt look like there is anything in the kit that reverses the direction of the cable, I need it to pull when you throttle, just now it pushes open

Would be easier to find a mid 90's or later 60/70hp and rob the linkages off it as they changed them from pull to open to push to open to bring them in line with the rest of the range, around the time they went from blue to grey. They didn't change the block castings so would think would be compatable with the 70ces.
I have a scrap one.... But I don't think the linkages are much use!

Not a bad idea that, depending on cost. How did the linkages change? I'll try have a look at some photos. If it's easily done then I may go down that route. Your engine looks like it's been a bit warm!

I'll take some photos tommorow, they are very simple, can't be much call for second hand linkages they never go wrong. You need them off any square carbed 60/70 and also the 50G.

Just looked at both of mine, the newer one has an extra lug cast in place on the crankcase to accept the extra linkage which reverses the action.

Ah right. No worries, think I'll just have to find an older style tiller then. I'd probably swap my newer style one for an older one if anyone fancies it?
