Hi Peter not sure on the engine as the 2.5 carb engines and the xr2 motors look the same we can Re-build power head and gearbox no problem we have allmost the mercury tooling please call me on 07702 958175 thanks Richard

Sorry to bother you but i read you are the person to ask for advice, i am trying to find out about an engine on a boat i am buying.
While i was doing a search i see you had sold something similar a few years ago. This is pictures of the engine i have.

Is it possible to say what the engine is a 2.5 or xr2 or ??

Could you also point me in the direction of someone who could re-build the powerhead and lower unit to a very good standard. I know it needs a lot of cosmetic attention!
