Really depend on what you want.
Working on a 6 liter at the moment with high performance internal parts to increase HP.
Maybe that's the way to go for your project.

I prefer a engine with electronics that can handle the boating conditions than a old indirect injection engine on that ebay aventorial.

On low rpm levels the peaks by cilinder firing gives a rattle of the tooths on the upper unit and damaged the gears on longer time.
So a dual mass flywheel is the solution.
On short times it can...

Watercooled turbo's

Some people do long distance race says watercooled turbo's is the only way to go on diesel boats.
If you look to yanmar/vp they use mostly normal turbo's
anyone have experience?
