don't use a hard shaft.
the best durability results are known with clutch and flex cable.
worse was flex without clutch because of shock loads during start up, kill and jump phases.

But: as you could imagine, these is a very worky and expensive job and will cost a lot of time.
Because I'm a hobbiest I don't have all parts in stock, these parts...
