a very small increase in weight up front, will reduce the speed quite a bit.

i agree with that to a point, but when ringing the last few mph, even on flat water, skill will help a lot, when you've got the boat trimmed 'way up' and it wants to walk about like a bastud on it's...

However, I expect it runs well in a chop.

At a guess, i'd think 70 would be the very best you could get with your set up, probably upper 60's would be more realistic.
