may be wrong but as i remember the exhaust plate has the 4 hole boss cast on the back .early exhaust plates the wing plate bolts through the exhaust plate with i think 3 studs and up and 2 bolts down...

over the other side they cut the leg down to the length that you need so really you could have a smooth back or a ridge back or even a consumer straight leg dont know if any one can do this over here...
