Don't forget the thunder-box was one time part of the rules for a Class 2 GT Cabin boat, there is only a very little hole out through the bottom just to make it legal, the loo was never used.

There is no problem with torque converters, it's just that these particular engine 400 bhp are so intractable that they need torque converters with lockup clutches, like the later 500 bhp motors....
