Yes it may be a lot cheaper but it doesn't say 'for cleaning boats' etc. and in this litigeous world it's safer to use a product that is 'designed' to do the job - there was a case here in Jersey...

If the gel is white you could try Star Bright 'Zebra Muscle and Barnacle Remover', affectioately referred to as Barnacle Bill. Awesome stuff for cleaning off brown staining on hulls and topsides....
