    Yahaha 60 de. Is that really a 60 DE powerhead or the 55b powerhead on that as the 60 de was never made manual start and if it has the 55 manual powerhead it will have different porting and decompression holes in the bores.

    Merc 1250 Redband I think you will find the 1250 redband is circa 1968, from an era of unreliable Mercs. rusty drive shafts causing water ingress to gearcase and wrecking it rusty spline at top taking out crank spline & they didn't tickover very well as a project it could turn into a nightmare.

    BMW d636 turbo marine

    These engines suffer with sticky rings, check compression. they have also had a problem with condensation on valves causing rusting and blow-by, at 2600 rpm sounds like turbo is working if not you would be lucky to reach 2000, have you considered it being over propped.

    Thats right plus Malcolm Williams from Cardigan, We were all young in them days, It was a lot of fun very close racing and very few incidents until the year Mick died when we lost three drivers from the LMBRC, strangly it was the last year i raced.

    I used to get most of my terminals from them, their cable ties are also the best price at the time & they do the screw eye cable ties. I however havn't used them since i sold up 4 years ago but i do know they are considerably cheaper than Wurth and as good.

    I have memories of racing one of these in mono NE class when we were developing the Yamaha 60D. Very quick in straight line but unpredictable, swapped ends many times. It must have a right handfull with a block of flats on the back.

    I know there only about 7 pints to a us gallon we have 8 over here & judging by the rough sea conditions you only have about 4-6 inches to a foot. This years CTC competitors would have loved such calm seas instead of what they experienced. 8 foot seas my ar!!e.
