    A little close for comfort

It sounded like the driver of the camera boat was being told what to do, by the passenger. The passenger also sounded like he was telling the driver to stand his ground and make the other boat move. From what I could hear. Maybe a little too aggressive? That could have ended so much worse.

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

Thanks Pete, As you can see in the photo, the exhausts have a constant fall built in, not the standard risers etc. I was told that they came out at the waterline, on the boat they were fitted into. I'm sure that I will need to play with this, to stop water backing up the exhausts but that's...

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

I cut out the shape of the new hole, for the TRS and the wood didn't look too bad but it was black in places and at the bottom of the hole the wood was "Furry" (looking). So I guess it's a new transom. The inner transom shield hits the outer step in the engine bay, so I will need to reshape...

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

Thanks Jim. There are no knees, they are all in the transom, inside. See pic below. So I guess it's time to pull it out then..... Would it be a good idea to dry mount the engines, check for mounts and cut for exhausts, hydraulic steering etc, then do the transom? Or do the transom first and...

    hull paint

I agree, good paint but expensive. I done my P21 with it and more than 4 years later it's like new. Boat is not left in the water for long periods though. Peter

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

I hope so Paul, some helped a lot when I first started asking about this, then confusion set in and now I'm totally lost. I checked the TRS ratios today and the shaft turns one and a half revolutions, for one revolution of the prop. The props that came with the drives are Powertech 15 1/4 x 24...

Hi Paul, Long time no speak.... . I didn't think of Konrads. Arn't they the same transom hole as the TRS? His engines are similar to mine, I think. Not sure what drives he is using though. All info will help. Peter

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

Thanks Pete. I might have given the wrong impression. I plan to use the Alpha transoms only as a temporary mount (engine rear mount), to get the right position for the engines. I will have to buy complete Bravo drives, including transom assemblies. I'll need the bell housings when I take off...

    Been thinking... Dagerouse, I know.

I have started a new thread to look at this in a different light. Thanks for all the help on the other thread and please comment here. Although my transom does not seem rotten, there is a slight outward bow, in the middle of the transom. I am presuming de-lamination, or something else. Either...

    Moving sterndrives

It looks like I'm going to be better off replacing the complete transom. I've noticed an outward bow in the outside surface of the transom, so there could be some swelling and / or delamination going on in there. So, for now it's going to be a dry run, fitting the transom shields and working...

    Moving sterndrives

Back to work After a busy year, I'm now ready to get these engines into the boat. The engines are close together now, on the pallets. There is 1cm gap between the closest parts of the engines. This gives me 86cm center's. Transferring these dimensions and following the TRS installation...
