Matt! Matt!! Matt!!! MATT!!!!

kept that quiet mate...........thats blinkin good news. you may have to endure one of captains specialist "short calls" to tell me all about it:)

mmmm maybe me and Capt D. Umbo should have a closer look at this..... looks like my thunderhawk project is down the pan!!

How much time does racing in this class take up?? how many wkends? and if you cant make all the wkends do you get penalised?

Whats the top end of this rig??

Admiral - feel free to get in touch if you want to know more but there are about 5 or 6 weekends during the season plus the finals - no penalties for not turning up!

You can get people in your area to look after it for you if you dont know how or havnt got the time.

Should be good for 70 something!

Thks guys
What sort of hull is it? what length? whats the hp of that engine?
Can you race with different engines? or tune them up??

Hi Admiral

The Measured Lenght is 6.49 M Beam 2.15 m
Hull is Mannerfelt Build by LA Racing built in 1997
as for engine the it is in standard tune (200 HP) but I
think you could blue print it, as long as you do
not go out side the spec of UIM Homologation sheets.

Andy
whats that ? 23ft ?
its an open top front seat rear seat formation?
pictures would be great?
how many boats run in this class??
where is the boat at mom??

Hi Admiral

Think its just under 23 ft
Seating is tandem
I will send you some pics ASAP
I recon you should see class 3 grow next year
as the class seems to be getting more support
so with good luck we could see 10 + in the field.

The Boat will be at Race Marine (Taunton)
by the end of the week.

You can both be on a provisional national licence and run in the National series - all you need is a medical, some photos and pass a short verbal test to make sure you read the rule book about the flags and safety and you will be racing!

We may be racing in the IOM next year but the rest will be along the south coast from Torquay to Ramsgate - probably!

Feel free to ask more questions!

so in 3 C all boats are the same length/design? with same engine 2L (XR2)?

What mods can be done? or is it all about prop choice and driving/nav ability??

So you reckon approx 6 races on south coast, each with a trophy...

Could we have a team of 4 people?

You can have a 100 people in the team if you wanted, but it's best to only have 2 people in the boat when racing!:D

There are seperater driver and navigator championships so you can have a different navigator each race or you could just race for the fun of it and swop around the team all season!

We raced a RIB in 3C for three seasons and got podiums in National, World and European races so anything goes!

spoke to John Puddlefoot he's sending me the info....
he's also trying to sell me his raceboat , its got a sweet engine!!

Admiral Brain

The backdraft Hull is basically very good in a heavy sea
hence many of the guys running B23's still feel my boat
can compete, in our first season of nationals got two 4th
and one 5th place, which we were pleased with considering
both measly budget and first season.

The other thing to note is that due to lack of time this year we
have only just got the boat set up correctly so late 60's / early 70's now show on the GPS, I understand from Bob who ran the boat in the Nationals a few years ago 74 ish was the top end.
Having said this we have an offset bracket on the boat so adjustments can be made in small amounts, Steve from race marine and I think that with one more lift on the engine the set
up will be bang on.

Go on Admiral - buy the Bakdraft - its a lot of boat for the money - the more racing the better.

Also think Pete Little won the world 2 litre champs in it and Bob Irwin the 2 Litre European champs in it.

Adam

Thanks Adam

You are correct forgot about the most important bit of the boats history!

PS Admiral Brain are you interested, as I dont want to arse around putting the boat on ebay !!
