2003 Velocity VR1 Hull For Sale.

Designed by the legendary racer/boat builder Steve Stepp and built at the Velocity Factory in Sanford Florida, the VR1 is 28.5 foot long and approx 8’2” wide.

The hull is a deep Vee design that incorporates a patented wide pad and a notched transom which allowed it to gain a APBA record in 2003 and retain it to this date.

These are fast and efficient hulls that have won many races as well as providing fuel efficient pleasure boats.

This Hull was originally built as a hi spec pleasure boat and was supplied with a Mercury Racing 575Sci mated to a Bravo XZ drive in 2003. Some time later it was stolen and stripped and all components sold off and its one of a kind custom paint job was removed to avoid detection. After eventual discovery by the Authorities it was put up for auction and purchased by the Velocity Factory who used it for some testing work.

I purchased the Hull from Velocity in late 2009 and shipped it to the UK where it has sat under cover on its trailer for the last 10 years.

The bare hull comes fitted or supplied with the following:

Tinted Plexiglas screen
Sliding cabin door
Accon Marine Stainless pop up Nav light
Accon Marine Stainless pop up cleats
80 Gallon Fuel tank
Non slip cockpit flooring
Through hull fittings
Horn
Fuel filler
Water filler
Stainless telescopic boarding ladder
Red Sunbrella Cockpit cover

The hull is sitting on a trailer, but it is not road worthy. Buyer to arrange collection of hull.

Here is an opportunity for someone to build a competitive race boat or a fast efficient pleasure boat to their own specifications.

Price £7,500.

Located in Southampton UK.

I forgot to mention that the hull also comes with a new engine hatch fitted.

This hull is a vacuum bagged all vinylester resin infused construction using light weight cellular foam for stringers, transom and bulkheads, no rotten wood to worry about.

This is a light and very rigid hull built using modern construction techniques at the time and is a well proven hull both through racing and leisure use.

The running surface is in very good condition.

496HO - 75 mph

HP500 - 85 mph and cruise speed of 45 mph.

Fit a lighter big power small block V8 and this thing will fly.

Bring offers as it is in the way and I need it gone.

I can confirm that the Hull has a Hull Identification Number and its history is documented back to its date of manufacture in 2003.

I can also confirm that all import taxes & VAT have been paid by me.
