Gav,

Isnt that the Daimler that turns in to "Chitty Chitty Bang bang" at the press of a button?

Or is it the Daimler that belongs to Jonathan King and thats him in the back with a young boy?

Now this is a bit of History for ya,

well you bunch of pisstaking bastuds.......

The car is a Daimler Mitchell.

If you notice there are no doors on the drivers side? thats cus it was built as a race car.

It was built for Peter Mitchell, the MD of Daimler, in 1957, built as a track car, used for racing three times and then sat in a barn until 1982 when my stepdad bought it......

Based on the majestic major, it had a 4.6L V8 supercharged engine, split screen, twin cockpit and a boat back.
The main body was built of wood! and the wings were fibreglass.

My stepdad did several car shows in the eighties and won a few trophies etc. The main one was the Blackpool Car Show, where one day Paul Daniels was looking around it, my stepdad said to him " i bet you cant make this dissapear!" to which he retorted "Piss off!"
Nice bloke that mr daniels!
So there you go, a bit of history, sorry to bore you all:hugegrin:

Nice one gav.

That was a bit of an obscure one that.

Yeah, can't believe I didn't know that story! :dizzy: :dizzy:

I'm quite surprised actually, i though jonny would have known the name of the west-indian fella whom was responsible for tighhtetning the third bolt on the rear near-side wheel.
