Boat Trailer P20

Yes he manage to find one, altho finding a good rear body was very hard.
He has a 3 door front end on it.
Also some very nice brakes, 8 pot titanium calipers upfront with 385 rotors & 6 pots on rear with 325mm rotors.

Not quite finished yet.
I'll ask him for some pics.....but don't hold your breath

Cyco

Yep, I know Paul.................that geeza is a diamond & **** me he'd give foooleer a run for his money when it comes to engines!!!

but a banana yella seat...........I ask you!!!!

Nuffink rong wiv yella

Jesus !!!!!!!!!

na i like yellow.......but its a 5 door leon!!

mind you its the ole VW 1.8T and as Paul used to work for formula Audi....he knows how to get silly hp out of one!!

His wife & kids must love it!

How long did the engine last between rebuilds? Burty's at 440 hp would last about 5000 miles at best. If memory serves me correctly a touring car 550hp motor would do 800 to 1000 miles and a Thundersaloon motor at 600+bhp would last only about 3 hours.

I use to thrash the shix out of mine all the time after it was built properly it lasted ages well i never rebuilt it at that power!.

With the norm block i blew it up 7 times head gaskets etc until the piston come through the side.

I killed 14 rear diffs! so make sure you get a quaife although i killed two them. :speechles

Paul use to work at mountune (wrc)

:three: :three:

Cool dude, you should have a chat with Burty, he recked so many cossie bits his moonstone saphire ended up as a white three door. I think the dash board and exhuast (although it was battered to f*ck) were the only bits that remained throughout. Spent some 40 grand I reckon over the years, I lost count of how many engine rebuilds he had.

Sounds positively thrilling:D

Its great to hear stories from down memory lane and all that but its friday evening and the weather forcast is good to go tomorrow so stop talking and go boating;)

Nice one Rocky,

We went down to yarmouth for a drink last sunday and on the way back it was very calm which made for a very pleasant return journey.

35 minutes from Yarmouth to Dock Head at cruising speed.

Was hoping to go out today as the met office was predicting a good day today, but from where im standing its wet and horrible!

Will have to play it by ear over the weekend.

Where do you moor / launch from?
