As many on here know, I've worked with John Kennett to host Boatmad.com for a good few years.
A while back he passed his own forum, ‘RIBNET’ to Andy Robinowitz from Social Knowledge (A US company who specialize in operating websites for social groups such as Boatmad), who have been running it with great success and it's worked out very well for both parties.
Recently Andy contacted me and asked if I would be interested in ‘Social Knowledge LLC’ taking on Boatmad.
As I haven't had as much time recently to dedicate to the site, I felt this would be of benefit to all and accepted…. so Social Knowledge LLC is now the owner of Boatmad.com

I envision a smooth transition, the intent is to keep things the same. They have resources and expertise in forums so I feel confident they will help foster Boatmad along.

It's been a wonderful time here with you all since 2003 and I look forward to seeing you all in the forums.

Regards,

Jon

Well done for setting things up, it is much appreciated!

Bloody 'ell, that's a big change.

I guess Social Knowledge will be along soon to update everyone with their new terms and conditions....

BoatMad !

Hi Jon

Thank you for a great forum during the last 10 years.
BoatMad have allways been THE place to learn more about powerboats,
and the best online forum on this subject in our part of the world (europe).

Is it too forward to ask why you are handing your great forum over to somebody else ?

Best regards

Troels

Hey there, sorry for not replying sooner, I didn't realize Jon had posted the announcement. I'm honored Jon has entrusted to take the helm and look forward to meeting you all over the years. I started my first forum in 2002 and understand how special they are. They are not just websites but living breathing communities on the internet and very important resources for exchanging information and connecting with others who are passionate about the topic.

We plan to give the site a fresh new look and feel and add features based on user requests. Everything else will pretty much remain the same on the site. We'll be listening and if you have any ideas on what we can do to make Boat Mad better, please let us know.

You will see some new users around here. Janet H will be by to work with the team, check in on the site to make sure everything is working, etc. Jeff (Tech Admin) works with the software to make sure it's running fine and Andy S (Interface Admin) is in charge of making this look nice. I'm available anytime via Private Message as well.
