I remember going aboard her & meeting Mr Branson when she was doing trials off Lowestoft prior to the transatlantic record. She was built by Brooke Yachts IIRC.

How competitive could she be for Cowes - Montecarlo?

EDIT: Not at all at 52kts I imagine. Make a good support boat though!

There was a Virgin Atlantic Challenge reunion in the Scilly Isles last year.

I have enclosed a shot of Tim Powell who looked after the organisation of the attempt.

A few years ago Tim gave me all of his files on the project.

If anyone buys VAC 2, I am very happy to share the paperwork history, it includes the original MTU Reports etc.
