We have bought a Aquarius Aquacat with a quite old Tohatsu Pull start 50 hp 2 Stroke. I was quite hard to pull start and we are not getting any younger.

All the fittings were there for the starter motor so we have bought a complete starter kit from ebay and fitted it very successfully. In the kit was a Regulator Rectifier and it would be nice to fit this so the battery is being charged. I have found 2 blue wires in the wireing box which are not plugged into anything but these do not seem to work. Does anyone know where we should be connecting the 2 green wires on the rectifier.

I know these 50hp tiller outboards are very common in the Zap Cat world so hoping someone knows the answer.

Thanks

Hello all. Well after some head scratching and finding a wireing diagram for the Tohatsu. Link here

There were 2 other wires hiding in the electrical area which were white and yellow. I connected these to the t blue on the rectifier and the earth to a good solid earth. Mounted the regulator, then ran the red positive back to the solenoid where the main positive connects from the battery and all is now working and even on tick over the volt meter registered over 13 volts.

Hopefully this might help others
