Since the first post didn't work, I will try again.

At the end of the current season, I plan to pull off the engine and fit a manual jacking plate. I would love to fit a hydraulic unit but the cost is prohibitive for the limited use the boat gets during the Scottish summer!

i am currently looking at the market and am looking for some advise on which is the best option for my rig.

The plate should ideally be easily changeable in the water and not necessitate the boat being pulled out the water every time it gets adjusted.

So hoping someone can help me out with the following:
1) Manufacturer: I have been looking at the likes of CMC, Detwiler, TH Marine, Vance etc
2) Offset : 4, 6 or 8"

The rig is a Ring 21B with a older 200 on the back. Ideally the plate should be rated for a bigger engine as I will eventually upgrade to a 225/250.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated

Cheers

Hypro marine sell both the hydraulic and manual sea star jack plates. Might be worth giving them a ring for a quote. I know the hydraulic ones are about £1500 with scrim gauges and everything.

I would buy a seastar.

I have one hydraulic best looking jack plate on the market !

I've a P19/200 & a 4" set back, works fine mate.
Question, how good is your transom,,,, lodsa loading with a set back!

Thanks for the info mate. Think I have narrowed it down to either a Seastar or CMC from the research I have done so far
Transom is solid to the best of my knowledge, no rot found during the work I have done in this area todate

I've the Seastar 4". Getting grease into the nipples is a mission, anybody know how it's done.
