I am considering selling my Sportracer.
Due mainly to work commitments, family and other circumstances I sadly do not have the time available to dedicate to this refit.
Cougar Sportracer 27
HSR001 manufactured in August 2002 and featured at the Earls Court Boat Show. She is the original as confirmed by Cougar.
The hull has been fully reconditioned with all Gel stress fractures ground out, chine rails and transom areas etc tidied. Spa-bond, epoxy primer and Crystal White top-coat materials were used to complete the hull. All work was professionally completed.
Cock pit area is original black gel coat and requires re-finishing (polishing).
All stainless pop-up cleats and deck hardware re-fitted.
Fender locker bucket and hatch with anodised black hinges.
Original race canopy (fits over rear bench).
Re-conditioned cockpit rain cover.
Honda BF225
Mechanically 100%.
All cowlings have been sourced to replace damaged lower trays etc.
IMCO S/S Dual Hydraulic Steering Rams with wing Plates.
Race nose-cone.
Trailer
Original Twin Axle galvanised RM Trailer with spare wheel and bunks
The bladder cell fuel tank needs to be cut up and disposed of. The easiest and lowest cost option is to fit an aluminium tank underneath the rear passenger bench seat. I had already provisioned for this and have a quote and also the original CAD drawing for a rear position fuel tank.
I have the full history available. Some documented. She has seen a colourful life!
I have a CE Plate.
I have a pair of Reverie Carbon Fibre wing back seats with red leather pad cushions to match the rear seat cushions which are trimmed in red and have never been used.
I have the original wing back seats (need re-covering).
2 x Grabner Life Jackets
2 x Race Helmets with Neptune Inter-Comms
2 x Powertech Race Props (1 reworked)
A couple of old steering wheels
Navman tracker & repeater which did work but will require attention
The engine and hull are currently split. Just require re-rigging and fuel tank etc. or happy to split.
Please no comments about the Honda engine!
I am aware of some views regarding the Cougar Honda setup/relationship and the suitability for close circuit racing.
However, I trialled this rig half a dozen times in rough Solent waters and she performs superbly and is perfectly setup for a solid 65 - 67mph.
Structurally phenomenal and built of Kevlar construction so lightweight.
Please PM me for any further information required. Regarding the price, this would need to be discussed. I am open to sensible offers but also mindful that there are not too many of these stunning boats remaining on UK waters.
Thanks all.
