Fast diesel boat

Interesting though.
My thoughts too, would love to have a drive. Saw the VSV on the Isle of Man go scooting past us years ago having no problem with some nasty steep seas. Seem to remember the IOM one had a company logo in white and green on it, but memory fading as it was 92 :(

Mary Mouse (grey VSV) has access to the bow is via a hatch in the cockpit, ought to be enough room for a bed or two in the front.

T

I think the VSV idea is good for mid speed use where you're still going "through", but as a high speed rib (ie where you'd usually expect to be "on top" I reckon you'd need a periscope.

There was a VSV years ago, sponsored by 'Fujifilm'. probably the best known VSV.

The Marines have/had one with a single Seatek diesel :speechles

Remember seeing the fuji one at start of the very first British Steel round the world race - gotta be nearly 15 years ago.

a friend had a black p25 225hp (again i repeat) and we ran faster than that in the rough, it whipped us in calm at 75mph,

I just read this again, and have to point out:

I really very much doubt that a P25/single 225 OB would run much over 60mph 65 absolute max, but I doubt it.

A friend of mine I was best man for helm's a simular looking hull but without the rib bit I thought it was a wave piercer, heard a few stories about there escapades on it , have looked over it.......interesting, but I rather fancied one of the other boats they drive when his boss gets shot of it, would have to modifie the layout inside thou, and the budget of £20 an outing might not go to far on 3 engines, also would be tricky to tow with a fiat 500!!!!:D

P25 with old 200 yam did exactly 60mph.

owners said they had gps'd it mid 70's !! and it certainly ran faster than ours in calmer waters...

it had a brand new merc racing engine with sportmaster drive.... I am not sure exactly which type??
