I have just been to tesco's to fill my Pajero up, which on a bad day should cost around £64......

To my suprise i had to stop when the price started exceeding £77!!:aaahhh:
They did a test by decanting 10ltrs and measuring that, it was 9.250 ltrs, so for every 10ltrs i put in it was short by 3/4 of a ltr!!

I have often wondered how accurate these pumps are! Now i know!

Anyway end result........they charged me £60 for a tank full:wink:

Local trading standards normally check the pumps for accuracy. They would like to know if you have been short changed

is it diesel or petrol

Only takes about £45 to fill my Cherokee with petrol. That's good for over a hundred & fifty miles!!!

:aaahhh: **** i thought mine was bad!

thats why i bought a 2.5 cherokee!................all my mates thought i was being a ****...........but i's been around them 4.0L's and theys is n'arf firsty!

My feckin Liberty (New Cherokee in the UK) gets 14.4mpg out of its 3.7V6. OK thats US Gallons so its 15.8 in UK terms but thats blimmin thirsty. Still the upside is that gas is C$0.90 a litre so thats about 39p a litre!:lol:lol:

I supose the downside to that is that in such a big country, you could end up driving twice as far burning your half price fuel, if you see what I mean!

It's OK, he's only dripping with envy coz my old 'oil burner' is 25 mph quicker than his 'guzzler', at a fraction of the running cost :drain: All the time Diesel is cheap, ya can keep ya 'gas crap'.

So what do you get out of a 2.5 then?

(my 4.0L gives 14-18mpg round town, 26mpg at a steady 65 on the M'way)

I got a 2.5 Grand cherokee and it gets around 35 mpg on a run and about 28 around town .

I reckon i get about 20 when the extreme is on the back

Not bad.

:hugegrin2

OK, but what are the 2.5's like to drive?

My 4.0L doesn't feel particularly sprightly. How much slower is a 2.5 (or even a diesel, if anyone's got one)?

Is LPG a worthwhile option?

Sorry to bang on about this, I'm thinking of getting a newer Jeep but I just can't stomach the fuel bills any longer!

I'd reckon on 25+ out of me 2.5 petrol............but as its been my 2nd car for about 2 years!!!!!!! and i've only done about 1500 miles in it over that time, i really cant fkin remember.

The biggest prob with the 2.5's is that they are quite basic by comparasen to the 4.0 Limited etc. I made sure i got the faceligt model which was a tad better.

Me mate got a 4.0 of the back of likinh mine so much, he had it 3 months and flogged it...........the fuel crippled him

LONDON (Reuters) - Profits at Tesco have topped 2 billion pounds for the first time as the company posted another year of double-digit sales growth and set ambitious international growth plans.

Tesco, whose British market share continues to grow despite a toughening competitive environment, reported underlying pretax profit of 2.03 billion pounds for the year to February 26, matching market forecasts.
No real shocks there then

On a serious note if this is going on big time with Supermarket filling stations - the racing boys had better check that have got enough juice on board! Coz its never good running out of fuel in the lead!
