I see from various pics that there a lot of GPS systems installled in Race/Sportsboats nowadays.
What comments / preferences guys on the systems you have up and running. colour /mono

Reason I ask is Fossile BluFin might get one in the near future and its something I know little about in the marine game. Dont think the spare Garmin, Trimbles & universal sets I have around here will cut it in the marine enviroment. will give me my altitude though !!!!!

My personal fave from a software/ease of use perspective in the Garmin range, and I would say forget colour displays in an open boat.

I currently run a Garmin 235 Sounder (GPS map/fishfinder/sounder all in one with mono display) which had a large portrait screen about 6" x 4.5". It's an excellent tool.

I think they're now called a 238 (with sonar) and 232 (without sonar)

I have a small waterproof B&W Garmin Geko 101 with a succion cup adaptor, paid 180 €. Does the job as I only use it for speed purposes.
The screen is a little small though.

I know this is 'slightly off post' but I can recommend SmartNav for your car! Supplies Traffic info, route and a 24/7 call center...just the best...
