L Benstead was the Club Commodore. He was EOT class champion in 1965
He then went on to class EU when Norman Fletcher, he and Peter Balmford had 3 work EUs built by Norman, powered by 55 hp Italian Carnitis. Norman factory rigged his and Peter's crafts that were blue and red respectively. My father's, Bob Glover, that was white, he rigged himself and was quicker than both of them when, at Chasewater in 1967 leading them both, he flipped and the seat and floorboards fell out
Norman and he were very good friends and went on to race offshore in the UK and Marbella
Very, very many other stories to tell
