Helmets

Matt, you have looked at the situation and made sense of it. With the greatest respect, will the scrutineers see this as clearly as you do?

Ben/ Matt/ Blufin + any others concerned:

For the Brass Monkey Race and indeed any other races this year the onus on proof of compliance is on the competitor. Scrutineers are instructed by the RYA to ensure that helmets comply to BS6658 or equivalent standards. If you have a helmet with ECE20-05 on it or a ACU sticker or either BS sticker green or blue, or a Snell rating it will be accepted.
If you have a helmet with no stickers inside or out you have to prove it's compliance: Go on the interweb, find a retailer who is selling the equivalent lid, print out the page that says what standard its made to show it to scrutineer- simple as that.
Long and the short of it is if you turn up with a PAS standard helmet or a bucket painted orange Rob is going to bin you at scrutineering.
Thank you all for the input to the discussion, unfortunately rules are there for a purpose, sometimes they are cloudy and can be "bent" here they are simple logic, as I said before- you only get one head and you can't put a price on that.

SIMON.

sorry the list did not send ?????

BSI BLUE ,BSI RED,SA2000,SA2005K98,K2005,SFI SPEC31.1A,SFI SPEC31.2A & FIA F1 STANDARD 8860-2004
We dod not let any EU standard be used in UK motor sport.

Hope this will help you

If a helmet is painted it must still have the standard sticker attached to the helmet or it will not be aproved for use.

Are you sure about that? See Pennpromos post above!

Are you talking about motorsport in general or specifically about boat racing?

no just in motorsport. when it has been painted it must still show the standard in the helmet inside or outside, if not it cannot be approved for use at the meeting.
