Hydraulic Pumps for PowerLifts.

Yeah that will work fine aslong as u have the single ram like me im only running a trim pump on my jackplate to.

Im sure you could get one over here though easier
 
Easier but not cheaper! I think $125 (£80 or so) is cheap for a pump and I can have a mate bring it over.
Mine is a single cylinder which is double acting.
 
its not the pump, its the electric motor. I have rebuilt it twice. The live melted once when I charge the battery off my car and then melted again when doing the same. I had it wired differently this time. I spured it from the Trim pump for my outboard and it did it again! Now I just down trust it. Last thing I want is a fire out at see!
 
neither. I was told that you connect the live wire to the + battery terminal and the other two wires to the switch.

Before I fitted it I thought it was have 2 Positive wires and one Negative wire. But I found after trying serveral conbinations that there was 1 pos and 2 negs.
 
i only have 2 wires going to my lift depends on which you put 12volts onto as to which way it goes. everything else is controlled by the box of tricks that came with it as i said email cmc and get a wiring diagram
 
I have looked at the manuals online in the past before I fitted and after contact them I know that its not the original pump. Its a '3 wire pump motor' so they cant help me. They one you have works just like the pump for my power trim.
So really need to know how to wire a 3 wire pump.
 
What colours are the wires. Black, green and blue?

If they are then the black goes to the battery negative. Then using solenoids switch the battery positive on to either of the other wires, one at a time. Not both at the same time otherwise you will melt your positive feed from the battery to the solenoids. One wire will turn the pump/motor in one direction the other wire will turn the pump/motor in the other direction. When used for trim blue is up and green is down. :)
 
You forgot the Negative wire! I had it wired so the green blue ran off the negative. This worked fine. The wire is nut the standard though. its 240v mains cable so i would think it should stand upto a lot!

The less the voltage the less the current dude, ohms law, its a coil not a switcher!!!
 
That doesnt make sense to me but I take your word for it as your a sparkey! Can you tell me what wire I need then? It didnt have the standard wire when i bought it as it had 4 cores and was 240v stuff (black, brown. blue, green+yellow)

so if the motor is a 1kw and 240 volts then it would pull 4.1Amps
the same on 12 volts would be 83amps

but after doing the calculations and typing this i think my sunburn has effected my brain so i will shut up and let you help mr rob now:dizzy:

i'd listen to JBD and as for wiring i'd use maybe 4mm multi strand equipment wire for the power
