Insurance.

£196 from craftinsure but I dont trust them. Iternet only, they dont ask for any details of your boat. Other insurers do ask a lot more questions and its in the region of £370 for £9200 worth of cover.

I was under the impression craft insure won't insure over 50 mph.

My boat doesnt go more then 50mph....:drain:

Spoke to Ra Carters (talk to heather, seems a decent bird!).

My Boat, £16000 of cover, stated as approx 60mph...........3rd party liability for everything + underwater damage. it'll be under £300.

I do have 5yrs no claims with them though!

but thought that was fairly inexpensive

I have 0 NCB

they'll still insure you.............have you tried them?

isnt there another mob "eurosure" ?????????

as in you have not claimed or just havnt had any insurance before? If the latter and you have driven "fast, speed boats etc" for a number of years RA Carter used to take that into account and treated you as if you had a certain number of years no claims. If you have SBDA they will give you a further discount.

The thing about insurance, especially if your gonna try and 'get away with it a bit' is to not take the piss - it has to be plausible.
Anyone could look at your marshan and know it goes over 50. RA Carter, I think, will insure pretty much any speed, as long as size is under 25 feet or so. RA Carter also offer good levels of cover for skiing, towing toys etc.
There are others also - Porthcawl springs to mind.

I visited craftinsure at the boatshow a while back - they take a really grim view on anything fast.

euromaine 01843 603345 used to pay 175 quid for the phantom, good company, but wouldnt insure the backdraft

thats the mob.

You WONT pull the whool over Carters Eyes!. I think they run a very simple system....whatever the customer says it does, add 25mph :D

They will be cheaper if you have your BWSF drivers award thingy and Matt is correct.....3 million cover for skiers and i think 2 million for towables.

You could also try Colin Curtis and Partners (marine insurance broker) on 01752 664649. :)

RA Carters for me for the last 10 years, just under £400 for a 2002 Wellcraft Martinique at £30,000.

I use a company called Porthcawl insurance for mine! Everything admitted (included average speed of about 65mph) and ive got two years no claims bonus! I only pay £235!

I used Nationwide Marine Insurance who are brokers (www.nationwidemarine.com)
Got good price fully comp, had option of paying monthly, just a good service underwritten by Lloyds of London:drink:
