It's a monster innit! how many pax? what motors?

You can read all about the lump of shi*e at
http://www.airbus.com/product/a380_introduction.asp

Edit in answer to the question
The A380 can be powered by Trent 900 engines from Rolls-Royce or GP7200 engines from The Engine Alliance (a joint venture between General Electric and Pratt & Whitney).

"If it ain't Boeing I ain't going"

Funny I just old school when I ask for uppie down or leftie right, I asking for a reason. Dont like some damm computer telling me I can't do it. Just my own opion they went a step too far with the automation. Remember those pics of the guy flying into the forest on a fly past a few years ago... poor bloke was pulling up like fek but aircraft computer was in "I'm going to land mode - sod off"

You will also be locked out of Braking & ground spoilers for up to 12 sec during aquaplanning depending on mod status. cover a long way down the runway in 12 sec doing 150mph oopss didn't one do that in Munich as well........................................

Edit:
require main wheel spin up to match speed for the system to work - aquaplane no wheel spin up cmpter locks you out for predetermined time lag..............

Surely all the manufacturers are building only 'fly by wire' airliners now aren't they?

and yeah, I remember the footage! nasty, I take it the crew didn't survive?

so why is it that highly intelegent designers, are missing obvious points that can be pointed out on a fkkn boating forum? :bang:

It's not a flyby wire thing, that can be direct - ish.

Cmptr ctrl - seen the footage over Paris of an airbus............ Red Arrows would have bee proud.

Did you know the early Airbus has the same grade HP chip as found it Drinks dispensers, How many time have you got tea, no milk, 5 sugars & the front is kicked in.

Shut up now before we all go back to British Rail, Great Western Or whatever they are called. Damm they kill ya to.

Grrrr I'm driving....................................

All survived Skipper was fired pilot error!

I think 3 died. (of 136 on board)

Sadly, the crash has been such a subject of so many conspiracy theories, like area 51, jfk, and diana it's difficult to filter the facts from the speculation.

Interesting article here on the 2 differing philosophies between airbus & boeing.

Airbus have hard limits in place which it will not let the pilot exceed.
Boeing don't - they figure if you're heading for a crash, exceeding the flight parameters of the aircraft might just save yer bacon - sighting a 747 pulling 4g as an example.

Can't decide which one I favour - I suspect something inbetween, as normal (Mr fence sitter :D)

Should add that this article is US and obviously pro-boeing.
