Inside is the next mission, but nothing a lick of paint and a new fuel tank wont sort out. He's got dash plates the same as mine to cover up the hole's so will be looking good before long

Is the dash a structural member in a phantom?
(This is a genuine question, I'm not tekkin the piss)

Just wondering if you leave the old holes, cover them with a plate and then cut even more holes for the new gauges, whether this is going to impact the strength of the boat. I'm not suggesting it's a problem, just thinking about it from a design perspective, I can see how the dash could add a fair bit of rigidity to the hull.

Oi burty, you've forgotten to remind me something. :D

IMHO yes

if you look at the deck the dash is moulded into it, if i were doing this refit i would cut out the old dash facia and re laminate........

if nothing else it "MAY" compromise the integrity of the helm unit fixing:frog:

Well i've had a good look and decided its not an integral part of the hull, the screen is but not the dash the ply is just there to strengthen it and doesn't mold into the sides so :frog: off:D
