Saturday 23rd will be National championship (and Formula 200 basic) racing with atart times:

F200 race at 13:00
V24 race at 14:15


Sunday will be our Basic race starting at
all classes 14:30

Entry fee for the basic race is £75

Any boats who race in the national race on the Saturday can then have a reduced entry fee of £35 for the Sunday.

Should be getting broadband back at home today, so I can scan in and post the race instructions if that would be helpful - all subject to NTL turning up on time, or at all.

It would be *very* helpful if you could obtain from the RYA the licence requirements for the V24 race on Saturday as well as the requirements for the basic on Sunday.

The information sent out at Ramsgate ended up being held by the RYA not to be the case at the event, resulting in a V24 being unable to race.

It would be annoying in the least to the guys who did not buy a National Licence to prepare a boat and bring it to Littlehampton just to find they can not enter!

You are looking at three V24 boats who are interested, who do not have National licences....

V-24 Licences

Very Tricky, here is the latest situation on V-24 licences from the RYA, ORC:


To enter any heat or final of the RYA National Championship, both crew must have a current RYA Licence for V-24 class - provisional or higher, a current Immersion Test Certificate, and a current RYA Measurement Certificate for the boat. An Entry Form must be completed and the appropriate Entry Fee paid.
To enter a basic race, the driver must have an RYA One Day/Event Licence or higher, the co-driver must have an RYA Passenger Permit or higher licence, both must have a current Immersion Test Certificate, and a current RYA Measurement Certificate for the boat. An Entry Form must be completed and the appropriate Entry Fee paid.

That should clear up any misunderstandings amoungst V-24 drivers.

V69 at Littlehampton!

V69, with ms Verytricky as navigator will be attending Littlehampton, atttempting *both* races...

The V24 Powerboat club ( now RYA affiliated ) is investigating providing trophies specifically for the V24 boats who enter the basic race on the Sunday, and would encourage V24 boats to come play on the Sunday.


* Remember *any* person owning a V24 has free membership of the V24 Powerboat club, and *any* person who is going to crew a V24 in any club, basic or national event can get membership of the V24 Powerboat club for the massive price of £3.

Membership of the V24 Powerboat club satisfies the club requirement for the rules of entry for the RYA.
