Entry for You & co- driver £1500.00 but you can go to the parties !!!

From what I have seen of the London Offshore Powerboat Club they are not overly endowed with clue. I wouldn't trust them to run a whelk stall.

On their web site they state: "With sponsors of the event to include Riva and Ventura UK, World Champion powerboat racer Steve Curtis amongst others has given it their seal of approval."

Does anyone know if Steve Curtis really has any involvement, or whether it's just more of their BS?

About the only comment I'd make is Port of london got rid of the london Calais race, Boats screaming up the river through the barrier. Why now has the goal post change to allow another group to go screaming back through the barrier and the port of london. If they have managed it best of luck to them. But I think I'd keep the money in my pocket and see how it goes maybe the following year if you must. Having belted down the thames prepare yourself for damage Have raced along it & at the time it was the practice rumfor me you have lots & lots of debris. think the wost was a telegraph pole, shite loads of pallets, Fridges, ect

A railway sleeper, an entire tree, a 22 kg acetalyne bottle, a car and last weekend, an 8x4x22mm plywood sheet!

I have run several of my boats in the Thames, around the Isle of Dogs. I have my own slipway, so I can launch directly into the river from home - Shopping trolleys, and a real kitchen sink are other things I have come accross.

I used to have a ThunderHawk ( Sunseeker ) and I once actually hit a pallet of 9 gas cylenders. ( I fished them out and returned them for my 'deposit' ! ) :aaahhh:

Interesting stuff can be found there at low tide. Occasional bodies, some concrete assisted, cars, all types of electrical goods.

But it is definately worse around Tilbury, as most shipping does not go further up river these days....

Oh and the dreaded plastic bags & sacks !!!!!!!

Forget the crap coming from that London Offshore Scam...

There's an RYA organised event which has allegedly got a bit officious and expensive, so there's a rumour that BIBOA might just organise a similar event....

Sorry am I being dumb here? BIBOA isn't organising any races this year...
Not officially... ;)
When you say RYA organised event - that isn't possible - clubs organise events rather than the RYA...
I don't know - speak to Mr Puddifoot!! I could well have got the wrong end of the stick here :dizzy:

BTW - awesome drive on Sunday, Cooks!

Those nice people at the London Offshore powerboat club for Hooray Henrys are offering cut price deals on the Deauville Bikini clad thrill seekers event to the toob boat lot.

http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10434

I'm sure Ed (whose feelings I unfortunately I have injured) would offer the same deal to you thrill seeking, suave and sophisticated hardboaters. If not I'd complain!:drain: :drain:

I thought blood sports were now illegal :lol:lol:
