Hi Chris,

Neil and I will be there...

Can someone give a brief overview of this event - who can join in etc? I live in Lymington so would be happy just as a spectator.

Its run by BIBOA (British Inflatable Boat Owners Association). Its based at The RLYC, & run on Sat 29th Sept. The course, depending on sea conditions, takes boats out thro' Hurst To The Needles, north towards Highcliffe, then east, passing North Head Buoy, back thro' Hurst into western Solent. I thinks its about 5 or 6 laps. Total distance less than 80 miles I think. All powerboats RIB & hard accepted. Contact Chris Strickland (Seahound) for more info, or access BIBOA's website.

All looks good for a great event - will get an entry form filled in and sent off to you.

Whether to race as a RIB (R1) or a sportsboat (BCC1) - will have a think on that!

So do we have any more enthusiasts out there who we can muster to race the lymington challenge 29th September!!?? I just need to find a boat as iv sold mine!!?? Rob

If anyone can accomodate an extra crew member for The Lymington Challenge,
I might be able to fulfill my ambition of actually being IN a race, rather than talking about it, or just observing !
I would obviously pay my way, but have neither helmet nor life jacket !
I'm an extra useless person, but if any very accomodating owner/driver can help an old fool wreck his back again, then I (think I) would be grateful !!!

Sorry Chris, only just spotted this request.

Cinzano entered today.
Be good to see some more Marathon boats out in the BCC unlimited class !

I have some fuel left over from Cowes.......perhaps we shall enter!
Is there an entry list yet?

Lymington Challenge Marathon Race

I met with the race committee on Thursday evening and they have agreed that Marathon boats can enter. So we propose a short race of 2 laps similar to the Cowes- Poole- Cowes course, total distance about 60 miles. Be really good to see as many Marathon boats as possible.
