Cos I am alucky fkkr i cracked my tailbone on the event to launch Neil Holmes powerboat skool. I have to be hones t and say that it fkkn hurt and still does to some extent some 3/4 weeks later.
Relax I am not looking for sympathy just explaining to you why driving a boat is presently painfull. (mm siuts you Sir!)
But cos it's how I earn a crust then I don't have any choice if a job comes in. I was working last Wednesday and Thursday driving a rib and a fast fisher in a sea that was officially rough in some stiff winds.
The fisher wasn't as comfy as one would have liked and I was being tossed about a lot landing on my tender rear or banging my head on the cabin roof.
the job was to drive the boat as a radar target at a set course between two boys about 5 miles apart. The sea was coming from the south west and the course and bearing (which was firm and no deviation was allowed.) was due South East wave height was between 1 and 1.5 metres the speed had to be a constant 18 knots
So for two days I have been ploughing a very difficult course which was back and for to a bouy. and was allowed no leeway whatsoever and for two days the journey to the bouy was literally a pain in the arse.
The location of the bouys was in the Eastern Solent east of Langstone the start bouy was called Winner and can you guess the name of the destination Bouy? I kept me chuckling for a while!
