hi

i have a phantom 16 with a mecury 90hp two stoke, i would like to race in class B of OCR however there is a restirction that you engine cant exceed either 1300/1350cc, and mecury seems to be the only brand of outboard that has 1386cc capcity for a 90hp.Surely by putting these restirictions in place means that you are exlcuding two of the biggest brands of outboard engines(mecury and mariner).

Does anyone know if you are unable to take part if your engine is 86 to 36 cc over the restriction?

I think there may be a 'basic' level in OCR now, whereby you can 'run what ya brung', and I'm certain you'll be able to get out there somehow.
Most of the clubs and organising bodies are trying pretty hard now to encourage newcomers and generaly increase fleet sizes.
Hopefully there will be some better informed members here with respect to OCR, that can give you some more positive advice.
