Im running an xr2 and im running her at 33:1! Is this a bit to much oil or shall i stay the same? I think it used to be run at 36:1 but i thought that was a bit to lean or am i wrong? Wot are the rest of you guys running?

i ran my xr2 at 40/1

Jay Smith on Scream & Fly swears by 40:1 and he knows his **** - currently building a secret weapon for a board member here I think. :D

Cheers guys i'll try it at that then!

that was my 2.5 efi which i run at 30/1

Okey doke.

S**t thats lean aint it! 70:1? Where do ya buy royal purple oil? I run mercury racing oil but the oil your using must be the b*ll**ks!

have used royal purple at 70:1 no probs

.............. it's ok if you're only revving it to 2,500 RPM isn't it Chris? :drain: :drain: :bolt:

I run 33:1 Mercury high performance synthetic, never had a problem. Mix it in a 20ltr jerrycan using a measuring jug for the oil, shake it up good and proper, then pour it in the tank through a filtered funnel.

substitute Gin for Petrol, tonic for oil & Chaos for tank.............. sounds like a good weekend :D

we used to run the argo at 100 to 1! and that was with biolube and they told us if it messed it up they would pay for any damage!

yeh we were on 100:1 but now 50:1, you can feel the difference though not sure if the claimed 'better compression' etc is true tho??
