Can anyone tell me, approximately, the temperature of the exhaust from a diesel engine in the exit pipe after the raw water has been mixed with it?

Ta.

depending on the type of motor,

Anywhere between Ouch and Bloody eck third degree burns. :drain:

My gauge doesn't appear to have these markings.

As a general rule, if the water discharge into the steamhose/exhaust pipe is good and equal throughout the circumference, you can happily touch any part of the wet exhaust, I would definitely say sub 100 C, assuming wet end flow is equal.

There's a rule somewhere in racing, that no part of the engine that can be touched (inc exhaust) must go above about 80C I think, will look it up.

Ta Jon. That 's about what I'd hoped.
