Is painting or spraying a boat OK or is it a big no never???.
If its OK, how is it done properly.
Anybody done it ? .
How does it stand up to loading on / off trailer etc.

its ok to spray a boat do it in 2 pack paint,if the hull is painted over time it will get scuffed etc loading on/off the trailer.but so does gel coat eventually.2 pack is the toughest paint so use 2 pack

still going good, could do with a nice cut and polish,my next job in spring.

does anyone know of a good reasonable priced sprayer?

Refinnishing

Anytime I ever painted a boat it has never lasted too long without getting scratched, scuffed and peeling. If you are going to the effort to spray the boat why not spray the gelcoat, there is a bit more rubbing down between coats but the finnish will be tougher than any paint and a lot easier to repair when you scratch it!
Although, I don't know a lot about paints and have been told in the past that there are paints that are as durable as gelcoat but with all the primers and finnishing coats etc required, I would think it just as easy and probably cheaper to spray gelcoat and use durateck in the final coat.
