Hi i am thinking of building up my own phantom 16. where is the best place to get a hull from? what is the difference between the normal deck and the race deck?

Thanks

Dave

If you want a new hull, they are made by Clive Jones or Graham Hastings of Phanton UK. i know they have been building the 18 for OCR and pretty sure they have the 16 mould as well.
Grahams mobile is 07801102775

they have the 16 molds.

thanks for the reply. what race category could the race deck phantom 16ft go into? would the race deck be better for racing?
Thanks

Dave

Pretty sure you can't use a race deck within OCR as it has to be capable of being used as a production Ski to seat 4 which the race deck doesn't allow and i think k1000 has an age limit. Too short for the 2litre/200hp class.

if you want to go ocr a phantom would probably be your best bet.

If your under 30 you can race k1000 but i dont think you can use a race deck.

Depends on what you fancy doing. OCR shorter 1.5 mile circuit around chicanes race about 1hr, on sat and sun around 10 weekends a year most popular boats are 18/19 phantoms and 130hp engines. or 2litre/200 hp old class 3 which will basically be any boat- production, rib or bat boat running courses around 6 miles ish again about 1 hr usually once maybe twice at weekends about 6-8 times a year plus the europeans and worlds. Rhino knows a little more than me with class 3

100% correct, sorry 'race deck' not used in K1000

You could use a P16 with a 1L (i.e. 60hp 4 stroke) in C class OCR but race entry fees are a little bit more, however, you can be older than 30 to compete. K1000 15-30.

There is no C class in OCR though!

There is this year, look at your licence application forms.

OCR have dropped age limit too!!! for both B & C class....

forgot about that one and i think the age limit is either 15 or 16 if you want more info visit.....
