im trying to buy a 25 pitch spinelli prop but the guy who's selling it cant tell me what model it is and it doesnt say on prop, how do i identify it?

thats the one.

markings are makers name and dimensions no model name.

i have heard that spinelli props are used a lot for racing cats.and are usually cleavers that give a lot of stern lift.where as monohull boats like rings etc need more bow lift rather than stern lift.

thanks bren,i think i'll pass ive already got a shelf full of props gathering dust,do you know anything about raker props?the guy who delivered my new boat said he had over 90mph on a phantom 18 with a 25 raker prop fitted.

i dont know much about props only what i have read on forums and asked questions about.i have a 24"pitch chopper on my bridgeport motor

hutchy might know,he has answered some of my queries on props before.

i think hutchy's sick of all my questions,i'll be seeing him next week im picking my boat up if he's finished rigging it,got to get some practice in over holidays so i dont get my ass wipped by the experts:D

Rakers are great on 18's in the flat - not a rough water prop or one for the faint hearted - what gives them thier speed (among other things) is the bow lift, which can make them a handfull in choppy conditions!

Rakers are an OMC prop and give good bow lift, however they only go up in even numbers from 22 to 28 or 30.
If you are running a mono then I wouldnt suggest running a cleaver, unless you want the ass of the boat walking around the place.
Can anyone tell me what state offshore is in the UK?
What about the Honda classes?
We are having a honda 150hp class this year in New Zealand on a locally made 19ft mono. Are they takeover merchants who want to run offshore?
I see that in the UK they run there own meetings.
Only 5 boats at present here for the first race on 30/01/05 but the Honda organisers are telling us that they will have huge numbers out there.
I am a purebred offshore racer, 27ft cat with twin 2.5EFI runs well over 100.

Well from Honda we have 2 calsses, the 150 & 225 now but as for the rest of offshore there are various classes from Kids (8 years +) to class 1.

We have offshore circuit, zapcat/thundercats, Ribs, V24, ClassIII (2L) and so on.

We have national championships and basic racing along with club classic, european and waterspeed record events from February to October nearly 50 events on next years calandar across the country.

What about there in NZ?
