ITALIAN BOAT 'THURAYA' WON THE EVOLUTION CLASS ON SUNDAY.

Thuraya topped the charts on 20 points with Wettpunkt.com, of Austria, and OSG Donzi finishing second and third respectively. The latter placed third despite completing only seven of the overall 11 laps.

Maltese Boat 'WICKED' placed second ON SATURDAY....YIPPEE!!! The Maltese Boat is powered by twin Mariner 250's and is built in MALTA by CHAUDRON POWERBOATS.

More info on Chaudron and Pics of WICKED can be seen at

Those Chaudron boats look a little familiar!....wonder why?....

Steve sold a set of bare mouldings to a Maltese customer in about 88, and later became aware that a 'splash' had been taken! seems they didn't just splash the 28, but then it does say 'Custom designed powerboats'!!!.
I suppose they have changed the screen a little, and stretched it to 33' for their larger model.
But still just another blatant copy of a Baker design.

So what were the boats called when they were built in England?

I agree they are similar........very similar!!!

)

Didn't know that they were phantom's though....good to know!

There is 15 genuine 28's from Sittingbourne.

As I said, Steve sold a bare boat (something he didn't do a lot of) to Malta, he was aware that a mould had been taken from this one some time ago, it's also thought that moulds have been sold FROM Malta into belgium and Holland! (all as genuine articles of course)
It looks like they've revamped the deck slightly, rounding the screen off etc. the original that went to Malta was an earlier deck than mine with no cabin door set into the dash, and no hatch recess, anchore locker, or non slip on the foredeck.

I really really hate the throttle controls in the photo of the 28

They need the pattented 'Fuller' Stainless steel, twin engine, single lever operation, flush sidemount controlls' :D

Better not post a pic, they might copy em!:aaahhh:
