Replacing a 2stroke with a 4 stroke

I've got a 1993 18 ft Fletcher Arrowhawk with a 135 hp 2 stroke Merc on it. A friend has got a 2005 150 Yam 4 stroke for sale with 75 hours on it and I'm wondering whether to buy it? Obviously fuel economy would improve dramatically but not sure about the performance aspect. I ski and wakeboard so still want to be able to have the pull out capability.

Is this a reasonable option?

4 strokes have more torque than 2 strokes so will be more power than what you have now but may be a bit heavy for your boat ? You may want to look into the weights

Thanks for the reply - I did look at weights. The Merc is 407lbs dry and the Yam is around 480lbs I believe. So on the face of it it doesn't seem too much of a difference. I guess if it's the right price I may go for it. He's got it on a Campion at the moment which should be around the same weight as mine.
