The Royal Motor Yacht Club will only be running one Poole based race this year, it will be on Saturday 6th July, but you are welcome to arrive late afternoon on Friday 5th July. This year’s race will be based at the Club House on Sandbanks, and it will be our Cancer Charity Club race, classes are :-
Unlimited
Up to 350hp
Up to 200hp
Up to 150hp
Up to 115hp

We are aiming to carry scrutineering late Friday until lunchtime on Saturday, the drivers briefing will be mid afternoon, with the race start being late afternoon early evening followed by a quick prize giving and BBQ.
The main aim of this FUN race is to raise money for Cancer Charities by way of boat sponsorship and raffle.

The entry fee is £100. More details including Advance programme, entry and sponsorship forms will follow in a few weeks.

Wicked. C-56 is in!

What about the September race for the Needles Trophy which is part of the Marathon World Championship? I therefore assume another club must be organising it but I know you have the trophy?

We are working on a plan to use the Needles Trophy in late August, but this race will not be Poole base, should be based in or around Southampton.

Entry form on it's way from Martin Warren in Double 2 Shirts, lets hope it's third time lucky for Martin in Poole, as he made muster last Saturday in Torquay, and crossed the start line on Sunday, so we are all hoping to see it cross the finish line in Poole.

I'm going to the club later this week so will check the post bag and give you an update over the weekend.

We've had interest from 3/4 3b's, 3/4 2 litre(BBC-2), 3 V24's plus 4 marathon boats.
The first 11 entries will cover the RYA annual/race fees, we then need a few more to cover the cost of trophies.

A really good event and like to support it - but wont have a boat this year. All the best with putting the race on and hope people get out and race.

Amazing how mnay race boats must be going un-used!

The 4 boats that has indicated that they will be racing are :-

Martin Warren - Double 2 Shirts
Paul Glenister - Grey Ghost
Dean Gibbs - Going Lean
Tony Toll - Apache Warhorse

I'm in

Boat 2-36 BCC2 'Big Air' Phantom 19.entry in the post.I might need a navigator if anyone is interested?

Powerboat Racing Rules are published on the RYA website: http://www.rya.org.uk/programmes/powerboatracing/Pages/PowerboatRacingRules.aspx

See RYA PB1 Offshore Racing Rules, Rule: B6.1, para 6: "Competitors with no previous racing experience are required to undertake a Powerboat Race Training programme prior to an Event Licence being issued".

There is no training available at this event.
