What sort of fuel economy would you get from a SeaDoo Challenger jet-boat, compared say to something like my 14' Fletcher/Merc 75 or a medium sized I/O boat?

A friend* is working in the states at the mo' & wants to bring back a 18' - 20' Challenger with a 260hp V6 jet. He's set his mind on a SeaDoo, but his only worry is whether it will cost a fortune to run.

(*Actually he's just a colleague, but I just wanted to see what it felt like to have a friend  )

which engine is fitted ? 2 stroke or 4 stroke ?

IIRC the 260hp V6 was a 2-stroke merc powerhead, not a 4-stroke? Anyway, the reason for changing from the twin rotax to the single Merc was the poor economy of the former. As far as I'm aware, the single V6 is no worse than equivalent outboard for economy.
