Thundercat not going as fast as expected - help!!

Hi - did you manage to weld a tuner of your own? Im currently also in the process of designing one to build but im not sure of the measurements. Has anyone here tried a tuner with no choke point? I designed a rough sketch after something i saw online:

but im not sure if this will run on a standard engine with only boyesen reeds or if a chokepoint is needed like on the d1 tuner. Im also not sure of the measurements, i chose a length of 255mm that should be ok for a light zapcat but the opening only has a area of 64 square centimeters whereas the d1 has around 72 square centimeters, i should probalby choose 8.5 -9 cm depending on how well it will fit in the mid to get around 72-81 square centimeters.
