hi there i have a 2006 tohatsu md50d2 and am trying to learn how to get the most performance out of it on my ceasar thundercat
i have installed boyesen reeds and welded the crank so far and have removed some casting imperfections but i am looking to go further with porting and any other modifications i can to get the most power out of it i am currently running a forge v2 18 pitch prop at around 58mph

i am planning on putting a fastcats hi compression billet head on there once they come out and have got a d1 tuner ready to go on when i take it apart but would like some more things to do to it whilst its apart

any help would be much appreciated as i am mechanically minded, young and keen to learn about all things 2 strokes

cheers

The head should help a lot, standard tohatsu one isn’t great. I’d keep the ports fairly close to standard, just clean them up. You can do some work to the exhaust channel to smooth things. Same for the intake, smooth from the mouth of the carbs all the way through, velocity stacks help too.
