Engine runs sweet worth every penny so much better then the 275 cossie all boat was working great got 70mph gps out off her but then i backed off bit rougth. Trim tabs are the tits makes so much difference.

Only got one prob i cant use all my travel on jackplate as the steering system hits the transom oh well stll got 4 inch of travel there. I still made the jackplate out of bits and a norm power trim pump has enough power to lift the engine.

a few pics sorry there not of in the river but it was well cold out there

awsome rig Taz, did you get Cyco to make you a set of tabs the same as burtys?
i like them seats aswell!!very flash!

whats those 2 down facing arrows that say lift on them for??
do you use your bow tank much, what would you recoment bowtank or trim tabs?

the arrows are where you fit the strops to lift the boat .

taz what revs were you pulling at 70mph ? what do you think of your new motor ?

Yes when the boat was raced she use to be liffted with strops by a crane just tells u where the strops to be as roofer says.

I know now that trim tabs are the way to go i never use my bow tank havent needed to it works but i dont use it. The lift brackets ok more of a toy good for getting the boat on the trailer and shallow water etc it would and goes give me more speed when lifted but i dont have the prop for that yet.

The trim tabs are standard st16s worth every penny got them for a monkey off magic marine who have very good service by the way.

Roofer engines sweet never had a outboard that doesnt keep fouling up i could cruise through moorings well slow or go like shxt. Didnt notice revs i know it wasnt a lot i think i was doing 5k at around 50 60 mph gps i have got a 25 pitch laser on there at mo it seems to like it though.

Taz - have you got the details for Magic Marine?

Dude, just mount the engine higher on the jackplate. Unbolt the engine, lower the jackplate all the way down and then bolt the engine back on so as the steering ram and hydraulic lines for the trim and tilt just clear the transom.

Tried dont work dont matter how high you go they still hit the transom at the same point you could get more height but cant go any lower:mad:

Yeah, you wouldnt be able to go any lower than you can now, but thats not what you want anyway. What you want is to able to use all the travel on your jack plate.

Looking at your pics the jackplate is all the way up and the point on the bullet is below the bottom of the hull. When your all the way up on the jackplate you want it about an inch above. Then when your lifters all the way down it will be about 4 inches below. This is how Burty has his set up and it works well.

Yeah your right there but she does get a bit unstable lifted right up feels a bit dodgy with all that caviatian or sumthink

yep to right burty thats something ive gotta get bout a 25 pitch chopper

Dude thats too tall for you to use all your power
i run a 22.5" ET and even jacked to an 1" above the transom i can only turn it to 7900RPM i'd try a 22" you can get it moded up to 2 pitches either way

taz burty's right a 25's way to tall,im only getting just over 7k with a 25 big ear chopper. im going to try a small ear and a yam prop and my high five.

Set it up like I said and then just dont lift the engine right up with that prop. At least that way theres no danger of crushing anything and when you get another prop you will just have to bolt it on and off you go.

roofer, how is your boat going? How fast have you had it so far?
M

boats going very well, at a guess i'd say its running in low 80's at just over 7k. ive been out on boat half a dozen times and left gps in glove box of car every time doh !
