How do i take my trim pin out of the end of the power trim ram? its not a 'knock it out' one....... it has a slot that looks like you could unsrew but wont budge??

I dont know, but what i can tell you is that i've seen several engines, some of my previous ones included; where they've dropped out!

I always just replace them with a longditudinal split pin

Dude the slot may not be for unscrewing it but meerly a key way for a trim sender unit, so it may still be a knock out one, maybe.
