Im trying to fit my seastar system to my 2.5 offshore but the bolt holes on the engine are no longer threaded, The steering tube looks like its got two bolts that attach to engine but it looks like if i undo these the engine will fall off? Any one got any ideas how i can bolt my steering to the engine?

No way dude all that hard work trying to trurn the wheel:lol:lol:

Ill have that prop though:cool:

taz steering is real easy to use and you can feel whats happening ,not like hydraulic.

Its just i got a seastar system and really wanna make use of it how much does a cable system cost?>

i daren't work it out but i reckon around £500 fitted.

On the steering tube from engine you have to fit a extensiojn for the seastar system to holes on the face its not threaded and knachered and the extension is ally so i cant weld it doh

You shouldnt need the extension. On mine and all the other systems I've seen the A bracket on the ram bolts directly to the tiller arm. There should be a threaded hole vertically down through the tiller arm. If you take the engine cowl off and look in the base of the pan at the front you will see a circular removable blank. You will need to take this out in order to get a socket on the tiller bolt to do it up.

Hope this helps :)

one more thing!!! The A shaped bracket on the seastar ram goes above the tiller arm not below.

My ram is different to that, its like the one in the attached photo. Sorry I cant help.
