Wanted Kathro race ski or Rixon

Good evening guys
Trying ski section hope that’s ok , I’m looking for a kathro special racer double booted mono ski or a Rixon both skis are from late 70s very early 80s I would have thought !anybody have one they don’t use ? Thanks in advance

Hi Wayne

I also spent a long time trying to find a Special Racer. When my daughter was learning to monoski and into racing I decided that it was just the thing as I had learnt on one myself many years earlier. Unfortunately I sold mine on long ago. Having to have something quickly we borrowed many slalom skis and ‘wake jumpers’ before I bought her a new Maherajah Fastback. It’s a similar concept to the Kathro because you can race it, slalom or just play on it. I considered it expensive at the time but she’s had it for twelve years, loves it to death and skis on it more than any other ski she has. The Kathro family were West Country but the only ski I found there was in a ski school which they wouldn’t sell and most of the the Kathros I did find were so old and battered as to be almost unrecognisable. I saw Billy Rixon speaking at a dinner the other side of the pandemic and would guess he’s contactable through the Stone club in Essex.
