Water Proof Light Boards

For the trailer "Water Proof Light Boards" anyone got or know where to get one from so I dont have to take it on and off the trailer everytime i go out. Seen some on US sites are they ok for over here and just mounting onto my existing light board?

i am gonna make my own. just a trip to maplins for some bright LEDs and some 'bread board'

just silicone everything up!

if you solder all the leds and connection together then there is not need to seal it all up. The lights are only low voltage so you have no worry about short circuits.

Yeah but you have still got the 12v down to the trailer board you would need to do sumthing with the connections especially in salt water. Better of getting sum water tight lights and fitting them to the orignal trailer board

Cast them into clear casting resin. If you add 10% flexible resin, you can even bounce them off the floor.

Led's are approx 2v devices so you'll need a 1k resistor in series with them unless you series them in sets. But you knew that already.

Thats what i was worried about the socket onto the car gets wet quite a lot too. Cant be arsed with the blue peter approach want sometihing out of the box really. Electronics GCSE was a while ago!

Dude why try?
everyone has tried it and failed.
just take your trailer board off every time and fill the connector with grease. i know every 1 has tried just give up and spend 12 quid a year on a new trailer board

go to maplin and get potting compound, its used to seal transformers etc that are rated for exterior use.. replacing with leds will still cause a short if wet so dont do that, oh and then the lights wouldnt be road legal as youd have non e marked light sources, unlikely to get caught but if you get a **** of a copper you may, my mate did!

Cast them inside the standard lenses then they're e marked.

Yes but i keep getting parking fines cus i cant get me boat under carpark barriers. so i may have to join the peasent way of removing the board. such a shame i reverse my boat straight in no messing
